Today I will be sharing with you my mum’s teeth whitening experience. I was present during this whole process and that is why I am able to give you all of the information on how the whitening went.
First of all, I will tell you how my mum takes care of her teeth. She brushes her teeth at least 3 times per day with a Colgate toothpaste, and after she always uses a mouthwash. Sometimes she will add a bit of baking soda to her toothpaste as a natural whitening substance. She has annual checkups at her dentist’s office and she will get her teeth polished at least once per year at her dentist. In general, she has beautiful white, strong and healthy teeth. But there are many factors that can affect the whiteness of your teeth as: food (colored foods), drinks (coffee), medicine and of course your age. My beautiful mother will be 61 years old this year and she wanted a whiter and brighter smile! Me and my mum love going to Makeup Atelje, specially because of their wonderful service and kindness. And that is why we decided that this would be the perfect place to get her teeth whitened. THE PROCESS: The beautician explains everything, how the process should go and what it includes. First of all, the beautician defines your existing tooth shade. After that she applies a special lip protecting cream (like a lip balm), and I must say this makes the experience so much easier! Because I had braces and I know how uncomfortable it is when you go to the Orthodontist without a lip balm. After she inserts the cheek retractor (just so your lips don’t touch the teeth area). After she also applies protective goggles. By this time the main process starts where the beautician applies a thin layer of Osmo whitening gel to the dry surface of the teeth. Then the beautician positions the Beyond Accelerator lamp head to your teeth, then she presses the Start buttons to begin the first 20-minute cycle. After the first cycle you can take a small break and then just continue with the remaining 2 cycles. After the last cycle the beautician removes the gel, cheek retractor, protective eye goggles and then the patient rinses their mouth with water. The final step is that you and the beautician together asses the new white tooth shade. This was a very pleasant experience for my mum, she had no pain or sensitiveness. But I recommend not drinking very hot or cold drinks for the first few days anyway. And maybe stay away of food and drinks that could stain your teeth for the first day. My mum’s teeth had gone for 6 shades lighter and she is so pleased with the results. The price includes 3 treatments (cycles), each treatment takes around 20 minutes, and the results should be instant! Of course, a HUGE thank you goes to Makeup Atelje, to the beautiful, wonderful and professional ladies who made this experience so pleasant for my mum. The results are fantastic and I definitely recommend their place for any beauty related treatments.
