My Eyelash Extension Experience At Makeup Atelje Močilnik

Today I will be sharing with you my eyelash extension experience. I must say I have always wanted to try eyelash extensions, because you constantly look “done up”, specially when you go to the beach and on holidays. My own lashes are thin but I have a lot of them and they were in a healthy state before I got them done. 

I also had no idea how the “procedure” should go and what I should expect. I would also like to clarify some things that I was personally worried about. This experience should be pain-free, maybe you could feel your eyes tearing up or a bit of a burning sensation, and that is because of the vapors from the glue. But what really helps if this happenes is a little fan the beautician should have prepared for you. No glue should get into your eyes, because there is such a small amount applied to the false eyelashes, plus the eyelash is applied on to your eyelash 1mm away from the skin area. This experience also should not ruin your own eyelashes, so don’t worry about that. But if your lashes would need some tender loving care, then the beautician should advise you to take a small break from lash extensions, with proper loving care. First the beautician talked to me how the whole experience should feel like. Then we picked the eyelashes she thought would look the best me (volume lash extensions). Then she cleaned my eyelashes with a primer to get any oils or dirt of the eye area. Then she put a white protective tape under my eye area. And then the process started…. She took a false eyelash (3 in a bunch) and put it on top of my one (a bunch of 3 eyelashes on one of my own). And this is what the beautician was doing for and hour and a half. I only felt a little burning towards the end because of the vapors, but I used the fan and it helped immediately. The beautician was so nice, professional and friendly, she talked to me during the whole experience and it felt like I was there for only half an hour. When she finished I had to open my eyes, and my eyes started watering. And my eyes felt different and heavy. But again I used the fan and in 10 minutes I was good as new. I must say that when you get them done the first time, it feels like you can’t open your eyes properly. But that is normal and because there is something on your eyelashes that you are not used to. In an hour I felt much better, but the next day the lash extensions felt like they were mine, totally normal! So don’t worry, that “heavy” feeling lasts from a few hours to a day. I enjoyed this experience so much and I am so happy with the results. Now I can go swimming and look all “done up”. I definitely suggest you to try the eyelash extensions if you want to use less time doing your makeup. Because now I need 10 minutes less then before and in general it made my life so much easier!!! But you are not allowed to wet your eyelashes after getting them done, anywhere from 24-48 hours for long lasting and better look. If I put some eyeshadow and eyeliner on it will take longer to wash my makeup off, because I need to do it a bit more slowly around the eye area. And you should also get a special brush for your eyelashes, please only use it when necessary. If not your lashes will fall out faster. And you should get a refill done every 3 weeks for a constantly maintained look. And it is completely normal for one eyelash to fall off per day.
